Here is your opportunity to support the DC chapter of C.O.P.S. while playing 18 amazing holes of golf at Virginia Oaks Golf Course. 2008 marks the 5th Anniversary for the DC-C.O.P.S. Classic Golf Tournament. The tournament is once again taking place at Virginia Oaks golf course located in Gainesville, VA. Registration for the DC-C.O.P.S. Classic Golf Tournament is sure to sellout fast, so click on the registration tab and get your entry form in soon.
This year we will have clubhouse attendants deliver lunch to all golfers during the course of play! Immediately following your round of golf join us inside the clubhouse for an additional complimentary meal as we present competition prizes. The raffle winners will also be drawn at this time.

Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, as determined by Federal government criteria. Furthermore, COPS provides training to law enforcement agencies on survivor victimization issues and educates the public of the need to support the law enforcement profession and its survivors. We are a tax exempt 501(c)(3) charity, Federal tax # 9502 and survive soley on donations of citizens and businesses and ar always looking for community support. All of our board members are volunteers and survivors.

This years DC-C.O.P.S. Classic Golf Tournament is dedicated to MPO Brian T. Gibson. On February 5, 1997, at 3 am, Officer Brian T. Gibson, 27 was on duty and in full uniform, when he was ambushed and shot to death while sitting in his marked patrol car at a traffic light outside the IBEX Nightclub at Georgia and Missouri Avenues, NW. Within three minutes after the shots were fired, members of the Fourth District apprehended Marthell Nathaniel Dean, who had been escorted from the IBEX club by an off-duty officer just prior to the shooting. Dean was found guilty of First Degree Murder and is currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole. |

The DC-C.O.P.S. Classic Golf Tournament relies heavily on volunteers and community support during our yearly golfing event.
